Optimizing your website for search engine results

I have posted various methods, programs, tools, tips and tricks how to optimize your website for better search engine results. Now i will write down the best of the best.

1. Do it manually.
While various programs will help you optimize one part it will make other parts worse.
Top things search engines look for is domain name.
For example if you are going to have flash games content on your website register your domain with flash games in it.
Example: greatflashgames.org

2. Name the html page with the most important words.
Example: For example the second page of your website is a category with t-shirts so you name the page tshirts or t-shirts.
your full link: www.greatflashgames.org/tshirts

3. The title of the page must describe your MAIN website content as best as it can.
Example: you sell t-shirts, so in your website as title you should put :"selling quality t-shirts :: Mycompany".

4. Page-rank
The better the page rank the better the search engine rankings. Also the older you site is it will have slightly better search engine results but with one condition and that is your website content to be updated with fresh content at least monthly.

Guide to increase website visitors

So my previous article about getting your site worth the stop was more general. Now i'll post step by step guide what you need to do in order to optimize your blog. Yes this is only for blogs, though it can be useful for website also. This is to generally optimize your blog and make it better looking, increase traffic and optimize your earning and i'm telling you this free, for this kind of information and guides you usually need to pay hundred of dollars!
If you have already published blog skip the first few steps!

Step 1
Before you publish your blog make it nice and content rich. No one wants to see 3-4 articles blog with nothing on it and they surely won't even think of clicking your ads.

Step 2
Add at least 5 quality articles on your blog before you publish, all articles must contain at least 500 words in them.

Step 3
Add widgets and useful script on your blog.
- add RSS/ATOM subscription button
- add blog archive
- add bookmark and Digg, Delicious, Reddit and similar buttons or just use "add me bookmark" button
- put a search script for your blog
- put related site links
- add a counter(this is also useful for keeping track with your traffic)
- add your slogan or logo at the top of your blog
-add your ads

Step 4
Go on through your keywords again and make sure all of the keywords are 100% related to your article content. Use Google keyword tool to help you choose keywords

Step 5
Publish your blog

Step 6
As soon as you publish your blog submit it to search engines and web directories.
Read my "submit to search engines" and "get your website through the ranks" articles to optimize your submission  text and keywords.

Step 7
Submit your articles to: Digg, Del.ic.io, Reddit, stumbleupon, spurl, Google bookmarks, yahoo myweb and feedmelinks.

Step 8
Your 6th or 7th etc... article should have 2-3 images or streaming video in it so it differentiates from your other articles.

Step 9
It will pass around 10 days until your blog is indexed by Google and up to 30 days to get indexed by Yahoo and MSN search engines so you don't really need to post in your blog every day but you also need to post a new article 5 days until your last.
So posting fresh articles on a 3 day scale would be perfect for starters, after your blog gets indexed you'll need to post articles at least on a 2 day scale

Step 10
Link exchange. This is a very important part in order to get a better page rank for your blog. Page rank is not crucial but it really helps in the later stages.
Make sure you exchange links with blogs that have similar content as your blog. You can make an exception if you have a link exchange offer from a pagerank 4 or 5 blog.

Step 11
Sometimes you need to refer your visitors to older articles you've posted in case they've heaven't seen them or just skipped them for some reason. So include a link to some older article you've made but make sure it is related to the new one you are posting!

Step 12
Always do little experiments, even if your traffic is high and you have nice earnings still experiment a little. Put a different blog template, change the text color, move your ads to a new place, add some other widgets and/or script and so on...

Make your website worth the stop

Increasing your website or blog's traffic is one of the key things to monetize, either by publishing ads, selling services or selling products. But one-way traffic is not what you need.
So before you publish your website make sure it's done properly. These are the things you should do before even publishing.

1.Make it functional
This means you need to have clean and properly done coding. As your page title put the best describing thing and then your own website name!
For example: lets say i'm selling shoes and i want to put a title on my page which contains woman shoes, so you do this - "Title: Woman shoes : yoursitename"
If it's a page with specific woman shoes you need your title to describe that. Title: Nike red snickers : yoursitename.
Other thing is that you need to have every link working and referring to where it's supposed to.

2. Make your website/blog look good
Yeah, instead of using one table or border use couple. In one you'll put latest news, in other field your latest product, in other filed you put your cheapest product or special promotion or similar.
So basically you need to display various things all sorted in a nice matter and all with your website content.

3. Make sure you've got the right keywords/tags
Add general keywords that have high search values but you need to have specific low traffic keywords.
For example lets say your site is about shoes so here are couple of keywords: shoes, boots, sports shoes, woman shoes, casual shoes (these are all high search keywords); red shoes, blue shoes, formal shoes, military boots, apex shoes (these are all medium search keywords); Nike red shoes, apex blue shoes, Nedi winter shoes (this are all low search keywords). Because your website is new you can't expect to be listed on the high search keywords so you need to put very specific keywords in order to get visitors!
Use Google keywords tools to help you choosing keywords for your site or other keyword tool.

4.Add some interesting widgets on your site
Add some useful and interesting widgets/scripts on your website such as calendar, guestbook, chat and so on... If you have for example music website add online music player, you can do this easily with ready flash scripts, add some downloadable demo songs and so on...
If you have for example news website make sure you put search button, add RSS feeds and so on...

Also read my older posts to find out how to submit your website to search engines and web directories, to increase your website, blog or forum traffic, how to advertise your website and more.

4 simple steps to a great website

Is your website really bad?
Do you have little to none visits per day?
Is your page rank 0 or not yet assigned for months?
Do you have crappy content?
Do you abandon your website or not?

The answer is no. All this can change in matter of weeks, all you have to do is go step by step and you'll achieve a great website, with decent visits and better page rank.

Just follow these 4 simple steps:

STEP 1:
  • Redesign your website.
  • Having a great looking website is a crucial component in order to gain and keep visitors.
STEP 2:
  • Add your website to web directories such as DMOZ.
  • Adding your website to web directories will help you achieve better page rank on the long-term. It may not have effect immediately but it helps.
  • Do a research on SEO and apply it to your website. SEO stand for search engine optimization and it's a crucial component in order to achieve better search engine results. By SEO you need to optimize your site pages for the following things: Title optimization, description optimization, keywords optimization, text/code optimization.
  • Go for quality over quantity.
  • Start writing unique and quality articles rather than copies and junk articles. Go for quality rather than quantity.
  • Submit your website articles to Reddit, StumbleUpon, Delicious and similar websites.
STEP 3:
  • Start affiliating with similar websites as yours with low page rank. Don't try to affiliate with high page rank websites as you will fail, instead affiliate with other PR0 to PR3 websites.
  • Advertise your site.
  • Advertise your site in forums or by paid advertising. Make sure you put your website link to your forum signature on forums that allow this.
STEP 4:
  • Add third party widgets.
  • Make your site look richer and more interesting by adding third party widgets. You can add weather ---forecast for example, or broadband speed test and so on...

Get a quick boost in website traffic

If you want a quick boost to your website traffic try some of the following things:

Include your website link in all of your forums signature and start making some new threads. It's important to start new threads instead of posting in other threads beacose you will get bigger exposure due to your post being first. Make sure you make few new threads so that your exposure is even bigger.

Pay someone with high post count and average daily posts of 5 or more, on some highly visited forum to put your website link in his/hers signature. This shouldent cost more than 10$ for a whole month link in his/her signature. Much cheaper and effective than conventional advertising as you also get back-links at the same time.

Digg and stumble your articles. Then go to forums like digital point and exchange digg's and stumbles with people. The more digg's and stumble's the more expousure your article will get and thus increasing traffic to your site.

Make some short but interesting video, show your website link in the video. The most efective way is to show your link in the begining, middle and end of the video. Then submit it to sites like youtube, Vimeo and others.

Best SEO and pagerank analyzing websites

Here are the best 2 SEO tools as far as i'm concerned:
Backlinks checker tool - http://www.backlinkwatch.com
  • This tool will check and show all backlinks to your site and provide the pagerank to the backlinks linking to your site. It will show you "anchor" text, pagerank, total outbound links on that page, and nofollow flag for each of your inbound link available.
  • It's a bit slow but it's worth
Website SEO Score Tool (website grader) - http://www.websitegrader.com/
  • This is a comprehansive tool for checking how does your site rank for specific keywords as well as give you a site rank based on all website checks made.
  • Furthermore it gives this complete list:
    Website Grade
    Google Page Rank
    Alexa RankTechnorati Rank
    Google Inbound Links
    Yahoo Inbound Links
    Delicious Saved Count
    Google Indexed Pages
  • Also it gives some general SEO tips on how to improve your site search engine ranking

Getting visitors from social networking article sites?

This may come as a shock for some lifeless administrators out there who spend half of their days submiting website articles to social networking/article sites and hoping to get some real benefit.

Just a small note: by social networking sites I mean also to sites like digg, delicious, etc...

As some of you already know or don't know your website won't benefit in terms of pagerank from submiting from social networing sites.
Even bigger thing is that half of the social networking sites are puting no follow tags on the links your write.

Now getting to the website traffic this is also now a myth, in order to get some small traffic from digg for example your article needs to have at least 1000 digs in the first place which means you already have to have thousands of unique visitors to your site every day to get such a number of diggs yet if you have that much traffic i don't know why you are still wasting your time with submiting.
Anywyas the benefit is little to none and even that little benefit is only temporarily and not long term. Overall I can assure you there are more creative and better ways to use your time to bring trafic to your site rather than submitting to social networking sites.

What to do with a pagerank 6 website?

  1. Sell it. If you have large user-base you could sell your website for over $50.000, possibly going all the way up to a million.
  2. Sell links on it. You could sell link places on your site. With a pagerank 6 website you should be earning $150 plus monthly per link.
  3. Put different ads on it. You shouldn't put just the standard text ads, you should look for different ways to increase revenue. So you could put text link ads, banner ads and interstitial ads.
  4. You can also park the domain for money though this is not a good way to monetize. You should park it only if you don't have much traffic and for whatever reasons can't manage and update the site with fresh new content.

July top 3 advertising networks

Again this month we bring you the 3 best advertising networks for the previous month

1. Adbrite
-Although still the network ads pay little money, Adbrite's customizations, and service bring it the first place!

2. ClickBooth
-Although this month ClickBooth overall payment has decreased it still ranges on the high 5$-10$ range per lead. Customer service is excelent though the lack of outside US offers makes it be behind Adbrite. Hopfully they will reorganise and start adding some variety or they are going to start falling down and not only on this list but on their net sales and publishers.

3. ValueClickMedia
-Although this may surprise you, don't be fooled. Value click media has made enourmous progress over the last few months and it's variety of high quality and high payout ADS are bringing it to the top. Apart from that it has quite good qustomer service and it has an increased growth rate of publishers and advertisers.

Hope this list helps many of you looking to find a suitable advertising networks and look beyond only Google Adsense!

Paying for SEO? Is it good or worthless thing to do?

Today i'm going to adress a widly asked question. Surley you've been at a point when your own developed and optimized website doesen't give good results. It can be that your site is just not interesting enough, it doesen't rank good in search engines, you don't have many, if any backlinks to your site and you've comed to the point when you consider buying SEO services.

Now to the point: SEO services can't guarantee high search engine results or high backlinks nor it can always redesign your site to be good looking and/or interesting. But then again you can't or don't have the time to do SEO yourself. So your best option would be to go in your nearest webhosting company and pay them to make you a brand new website. Paying for SEO services can cost you even more than paying for a new website development. Ofcourse you must know what you are looking for and what your site needs to be and behave.
Having a website developed is much more cost efficent and better beacose apart from the normal website development your website will also be optimized. So once again we come to the point when you need to have a clear vision about what your website is for and what you want from it. All you have to do then is transfer that "vision" to the ones developing your website so they have clear directions on how to build and optimize your website.

The crazy ideas

Have you wanted to know how to make money online, searched google found hundred of sites that claim they will show you how to make money?
- Ofcourse you've been in this situation.

I want to clarify things a little about most of those websites or blogs. So nearly 90% of their articles and guides are pure nonsense. It is even funny to look at them beacose not only they post some ridiculous ideas and guids on making money but the funnier thing is there are people who bealive everything they are posting.

For example they have these strange ideas on making money on e-bay, with e-books, videos and similar things. This is all to put it simple false.

The best ways to make money are through advertising networks like AdSense, Adbrite, Bidvertiser and the rest of the advertising networks. Making money yourself and dealing with hundreds of advertisers, ADS, articles and all that stuff is impossible.

Second thing is even with the best advertising networks it's not easy to make money. The biggest issue is having large enough traffic and quality enough traffic. One thing is having a visitor spending less than one minute on your website or blog and other thing is visitor who is interested with your website or blog content! The issue with traffic itself can be spread to couple of categories by itself. Some of those categories are having a good website or blog with interesting or at least simple enough design, other thing is having good content on your website or blog, another thing is geting the people to come to your website or blog and so on...

When you put everything together you have a though and long way to go.
So you need to make your website look good, increase your search engine results, post good articles on your website as well as knowing how to do all of this.

So now you know what it takes and you need to do all of these things step-by-step. So thats why you need to look for articles and guides that explain all those things step-by-step and ignore some crazy ideas posted only to fullfil their daily quota of number of articles!

You could start by looking at my articles "Guide to making money online" and steadly going through rest of the articles.

Site creation is done using business and content terminology delivered through a visual interface, without the user's having to write code or get into low-level technical terms. Using its smart components, users can show through the Web what their company does and what they have to offer to their customers. They can easily present stored information about their business and gather information from site visitors.

How does it work? When the user opens the tool, he is greeted by a wizard that allows him to create a Web site from scratch using predefined site layouts or from a predefined sample site. In this wizard, the user selects generic site attributes such as color scheme, logo, and navigation bar links. After this short wizard is finished, a complete Web site that the user can further edit is created.

The user can now use a simple Web page editor to place various texts, images, links, and tables, as well as smart components that interact with business information stored in a database (in the future, other data sources will also be usable). When the user defines the data for these components, the tool creates, "under the covers," database tables with the matching schemata. The content of the tables may later be modified using a wizard. The tool also writes the necessary scripts for creating the matching tables on a production database and even the scripts for filling in the values that the user entered into his local database (to be executed by the deployer of the site).

A site preview is updated dynamically to let the user browse the site in progress. The user can also test his site on the Tomcat Web server included with the tool. When the site is ready for publishing, the user can click on a button to create a file and publish it to his own server or send it to the IT representative for deployment to his server.

The IBM Easy Website Builder, which was built using Eclipse technology, is bundled with a complimentary open-source database (Apache Derby) and Web application server (Apache Tomcat); these inclusions reduce the total cost of ownership. The tool may also be configured to work with other databases such as IBM DB2 and other Web application servers such as IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS).

Make money with low traffic website

Having low traffic site?
Even less unique visits?
less than 100 pageviews per day?

You followed my every article, guide, tip, trick and update but you still can't get enough traffic and can't monetize on it?
1. You are either joking
2. Even that can happen(under really bad circumstances)

If you consider yourself in the 2nd group this is your lats resource:

1. Pay your local internet provider to make you a website and optimize it or...
2. Use every bit of last resource

If you choose 2nd option again this is the only thing you can do:

- Exchange links with any website that wants to. This is going to help you at least little bit so you can get mauby some referals and minor better search engine rankings.

- Use auto surf. Some think this is a bad way of generating traffic and making money some not. But if you are desprate for traffic then this is the way.

I won't link such websites here but you can search for them in google under the following keywords: auto-surf, auto surf, auto surfing and similar...

- Use your own or your friends Hi5, myspace or similar profiles and put a direct text and banner referral to your site.

You can even name the referral "myspace resources" or "myspace graphics" or "improve your Hi5 profile" and similar.

If all this is not working then you should seriosly sell your domain and start all over again with a different idea and domain.

And next time before you even starting building your own site make sure you read guides and tips on how to build, improve, maintain, publish and monetize your site.

Get into Google search engine in two days

As you already now traffic is the key to monetizing your website. One way to get your traffic faster when you are starting with a website is to get listed into search engines fast!
I'm going to tell you how to get into google search engine in only two days. Forget about paying hundred of dolars to get into google search engine. Surley you've comed across websites that say they will list your website in google results in one week and that you'll be in the first 10. This is only partially true, you may be in the first 10 but for low traffic keywords.
My way to get into google in two days is only for websites and NOT for blogs or forums.

Where do you start?
Well lets assume your website is 100% done and ready. So you've uploaded your website to your host and from this point you need to do the following thing in order to get into google search engine in two days!

1. Make a submition attack
Surley you've asked yourself is it better to submit your website to search engines or wait to be automaticly indexed. Well don't think any more, submit your website and submit it good.
You need to "spam" search engines and website submition websites
So go on all of this pages and submit your website:

http://www.google.com/addurl/
http://www.addme.com/submission.htm

https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/submit

2. Digg-spam your website
Go and add every(or at least as much as you can) page or article of your website to Digg, del.icio us, yahoo directory and similar websites/directories.

3. Spamvertise your website
This means to go on every forum, union or any other place where you can insert your website link and start making threads or posts with your website link. Make sure you start a similar thread as your website content so it doesent look to obvious or you may be breaking some websites, forums guidelines and polices. Also add a link to your forum signature. It would be a lot better if you can add your website link to some website or forum that has PR6 or above google rank!
