Getting visitors from social networking article sites?

This may come as a shock for some lifeless administrators out there who spend half of their days submiting website articles to social networking/article sites and hoping to get some real benefit.

Just a small note: by social networking sites I mean also to sites like digg, delicious, etc...

As some of you already know or don't know your website won't benefit in terms of pagerank from submiting from social networing sites.
Even bigger thing is that half of the social networking sites are puting no follow tags on the links your write.

Now getting to the website traffic this is also now a myth, in order to get some small traffic from digg for example your article needs to have at least 1000 digs in the first place which means you already have to have thousands of unique visitors to your site every day to get such a number of diggs yet if you have that much traffic i don't know why you are still wasting your time with submiting.
Anywyas the benefit is little to none and even that little benefit is only temporarily and not long term. Overall I can assure you there are more creative and better ways to use your time to bring trafic to your site rather than submitting to social networking sites.

ValueClick Media Review

Founded in 1998, ValueClick Media was among the first online advertising networks and an early pioneer of applying performance-based pricing methods to the ad network model.

Today, ValueClick Media is one of the largest online advertising networks in the U.S., though lacks big time in the international market. Infact it has a very little international publishers and advertisers that can't even be compared to some other advertising networks like Google AdSense for example. Furthermore lacks in number of advertisers even in the U.S which is basicly the biggest problem most advertising networks face these days.

ValueClick Media allows publishers to earn revenue from every standard banner format, as well as pop-unders, rich media and video.

Clickbooth review

ClickBooth was formed in September of 2002. Now Clickbooth is a division of IntegraClick, Inc. based in Sarasota, Florida.
Clickbooth was innitially formed as Advertising network for publishers and advertisers. Integraclick its parent company has a network of over 100 sites, and have made partnerships with many of the largest sites in the industry. Their network ranges from e-commerce to entertainment.

Clickbooth uses html technology for its ads and unlike other advertising networks its publishers choose which, when and if they are going to use ads on their sites.
Currently Clickbooth mostly focuses on US advertisers and thus is not a good choice for non-US based sites.

Bidvertiser review

Bidvertiser is a subsidiary of Bpath, established in 1997 as an international services provider for websites.
Publishers can join for free and show text and ebay ads on their sites through Bidvertiser network.

Bidvertise uses javascript technology to serve ads based mostly on advertisers set preference, so you as a publisher have little or no control of what ads will appear on your site.
Currently Bidvertise is considered to have too little advertisers to make this a viable network but it has significant amount of publishers.

Widget Bucks

There is a new ad network Widget Bucks. They offer $25 for sign-up and some decent cpc.
I've tryed them out myself and the ads (widgets) as they call them are pretty interesting.
You can choose from over numerous categories like gaming consoles, pc pheriperials, ps2 games, ps3 games, xbox360 games, wii games, movies dvd, tv shows dvd's and so on...
Average CPC i'm getting is $0.10 per click which is pretty good for a new network.
They have partnership with some online stores as amazon and all seems good for now.

I still heavent reached payment stage (probably will not happen this year) so i can't tell if they are legitimate and if they pay on time.

Well i guess time will tell if they are here to stay or not!

Agloco adding ask.com

News from agloco:
We are very excited to announce that Ask.com will soon become AGLOCO’s official worldwide default search provider.
For those of you not aware of Ask.com, here is some recent information. According to the August 14, 2007 report, of the University of Michigan’s American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), Ask rates right with Yahoo and Google in customer satisfaction - Ask 75, Yahoo 79 and Google 78. Also, ForeSee Results added that, “Ask has had the biggest increase of any e-business company measured by the ACSI, up 21% since it was first measured… Ask.com seems to be well-positioned to rival Google in the coming years because it has a strong search technology lauded by analysts and users alike.”
We will be adding Ask to the Viewbar search area in the next couple of days. The AGLOCO Development tem has been using the Ask.com search site the last month and we are very impressed with the results. We hope you will be too.
This is a very important step for AGLOCO. It is our first major revenue partnership and should greatly improve our earnings starting in October. We will update you further as the Ask.com search come online in the Viewbar.
As usual, more and quicker updates are available on the AGLOCO company blog.

Google bringing new gadget ads to the internet

As if it wasn't enough ads and ad companies, Google is bringing new kind of ads. Their latest ads are Google gadget ads and their primary role is to bring interactivity with the ads as well as more information about the product or service on the ads.

Some of the features of the new gadget ads are:
Host your ad anywhere
Host your content anywhere, and Google's caching infrastructure will allow you to serve at scale.
Caching of creative
Regardless of where it is hosted, Google will fetch a copy of your gadget ad every 1-2 hours and cache it on our servers. This reduces the impact on your web servers and avoids incurring bandwidth charges.

Custom refreshing
To be sure your gadget ad has the latest data, you can force a refresh at an interval you specify.

Free YouTube hosting
Hosting videos on YouTube ensures that you will be able to handle the traffic and load coming from your gadget ad.

Branded players
Use your own Flash player to playback videos hosted on YouTube.

RSS
Utilizing feeds are an easy way to keep the content of your gadget ad timely and relevant.

Trusted hosts
Hosting your video elsewhere? Ask about our list of approved content delivery networks (CDNs) that can handle your campaign

Currently the new ad format has been in limited testing with a few companies. Google says that they are now ready to roll the ads out to a much larger audience of participating advertisers. The new ad format will be served via Google’s Adsense network and will be priced by the number of clicks or the number of impressions.

What kind of campaigns should you avoid to publish?

What kind of campaigns should you avoid to publish?

There is one kind of advertising campaign that you should avoid at all costs. That is CPS (cost per sale) based campaign. The reason you should avoid this advertising campaign is that it's really hard, not to say impossible to make a person buy a product or service immediately after he sees an Advertisement on some site about that product. Even if the person makes a purchase from the advertising site or buy's the exact advertised product or service he will do this purchase at a later time or date.
Here are some reasons why most people and when i say most I mean 95% of the people will not make a purchase by following your published ad:
1. They don't have their credit card with them at that moment.
2. They are too lazy to purchase at that time
3. They have no intension on purchasing anything at the moment because they are looking or searching for other content on the web.
4. Their credit card is out of money at the moment
5. Their credit card is blocked at the moment
6. They are surfing the web from their job place
7. They are surfing the web from an online cafe or computer that is not theirs
8. They are uncertain if the product or service is legitimate
9. They are afraid from getting their credit card information staled

These are just some of the reasons why you should avoid CPS campaigns. Although these campaigns will pay you minimum of 10$ and pay up to 350$ for a single sale, or if we speak high end they can pay up to 1000$ for a sale, for example a car dealership can be selling a car or a car company can be selling a car and so on.... The thing is if they are not backed-up by some other form of payment, for example Cost per thousand impressions you should not publish this kind of campaigns.

"BlueLithium's products, technology and team will be an integral part of our drive to build the industry's leading advertising and publishing network," said Jerry Yang, chief executive officer, Yahoo! Google updates webmaster central including webmaster tools, website optimizer, Google Analytics...

Google updates webmaster central including webmaster tools, website optimizer, Google Analytics, gadgets for your webpage and so on based on user feedback

Bloggers at Inside AdWords touted three updates to Website Optimizer. These additions have been driven by requests from advertisers and ad agencies, Google said.
Most changes were made to Google Website Optimizer and Google Analytics.

"The first feature that we've added is a wizard for creating A/B split experiments. A/B tests are ideal for testing how well different page layouts perform and for pages that don't get a lot of traffic. Although you can perform A/B testing in Google Analytics, using Website Optimizer simplifies the process and makes it really easy to set up experiments and view results. Watch this demo to learn how to set up an A/B experiment. We've also improved the experiment list display. Your most recent experiments appear at the top and you can now delete experiments. Finally, we've added My Client Center Access Manager. Now, with permission from their client accounts, agencies can access Website Optimizer directly through the My Client Center." Google reps. said.

The New Google Analytics
Google Analytics has been re-designed to help you learn even more about where your visitors come from and how they interact with your site.

The new Google Analytics makes it easy to improve your results online. Write better ads, strengthen your marketing initiatives, and create higher-converting websites. Google Analytics is free to all advertisers, publishers, and site owners

Google dropping paid link directories!?

Paid link directories have been plummeting in Google search results. Many are not ranking for their own business name. It seems that Google has set to put an end to paid link directories as we know it.
From an earlier report we know that Google was searching ways to diferentiate normal links from paid link and exchange links. It seems paid link directories are the first hit for Google.

Though for now nothing is certain and it remains to be seen how will this end!

What to do with a pagerank 6 website?

  1. Sell it. If you have large user-base you could sell your website for over $50.000, possibly going all the way up to a million.
  2. Sell links on it. You could sell link places on your site. With a pagerank 6 website you should be earning $150 plus monthly per link.
  3. Put different ads on it. You shouldn't put just the standard text ads, you should look for different ways to increase revenue. So you could put text link ads, banner ads and interstitial ads.
  4. You can also park the domain for money though this is not a good way to monetize. You should park it only if you don't have much traffic and for whatever reasons can't manage and update the site with fresh new content.

Making money online more and more popular!

Recent studies have shown that people are becoming more and more interested in making money online.
This is seen in two directions, online jobs and through personal websites using advertising networks.

So why do people are becoming more and more interested in making a living online? For one beacose it works, there are lots of websites that make a lot more money than some of the high payed normal jobs. Other thing is beacose you do what you are most interested in, all the world in on your reach, internet is not limited by distance and countries so you basicly have unlimited visitors and potentially high monetization.
Seeing how an online company like google and yahoo make billions with their websites gives all the people a desire to at least try and make money online. These sites also have a huge number of staff and we are seeing more online jobs appearing.

So we are going to vitness how this interest continues to grow in the following years.

July top 3 advertising networks

Again this month we bring you the 3 best advertising networks for the previous month

1. Adbrite
-Although still the network ads pay little money, Adbrite's customizations, and service bring it the first place!

2. ClickBooth
-Although this month ClickBooth overall payment has decreased it still ranges on the high 5$-10$ range per lead. Customer service is excelent though the lack of outside US offers makes it be behind Adbrite. Hopfully they will reorganise and start adding some variety or they are going to start falling down and not only on this list but on their net sales and publishers.

3. ValueClickMedia
-Although this may surprise you, don't be fooled. Value click media has made enourmous progress over the last few months and it's variety of high quality and high payout ADS are bringing it to the top. Apart from that it has quite good qustomer service and it has an increased growth rate of publishers and advertisers.

Hope this list helps many of you looking to find a suitable advertising networks and look beyond only Google Adsense!

Zangocash

You've probably heard about https://www.zangocash.com. And now you are wondering if you can really make profits out of it. Well what makes SEO TOTAL different from other similar blogs is that we first test these kind of web sites for weeks and after 6-12 weeks we post our opinions and report.

So I'm going to give you a simple answer: No you won't make a single cent out of the site.
After 10 weeks of testing Zangocash we can confirm that it's a waste of time and although it doesent appear to us that its scam, you won't profit anything.

Another thing you should know is that some of their programs you need to test behave as adware, meaning annonumoss connection to the internet, attampts to download additional stuff from the internet in the background and so on...

So while you may earn 1.25$ per install of zango software you get 1 less visitor. Not to mention that there are very little to none visitors that will install zango software.

Final thoughts: Its not worth it, there are far better affiliate programs and monetizing products out there.

Paying for SEO? Is it good or worthless thing to do?

Today i'm going to adress a widly asked question. Surley you've been at a point when your own developed and optimized website doesen't give good results. It can be that your site is just not interesting enough, it doesen't rank good in search engines, you don't have many, if any backlinks to your site and you've comed to the point when you consider buying SEO services.

Now to the point: SEO services can't guarantee high search engine results or high backlinks nor it can always redesign your site to be good looking and/or interesting. But then again you can't or don't have the time to do SEO yourself. So your best option would be to go in your nearest webhosting company and pay them to make you a brand new website. Paying for SEO services can cost you even more than paying for a new website development. Ofcourse you must know what you are looking for and what your site needs to be and behave.
Having a website developed is much more cost efficent and better beacose apart from the normal website development your website will also be optimized. So once again we come to the point when you need to have a clear vision about what your website is for and what you want from it. All you have to do then is transfer that "vision" to the ones developing your website so they have clear directions on how to build and optimize your website.

Google reported revenue of $3.87 billion, up 58 percent compared to the same quarter last year.
Although Google revenue has increased overall from last year, there were some disapointments at wall street beacose google missed expectations by 3 cents per share.
Excluding traffic acquisition costs, or commission paid to content partners, revenue was $2.72 billion

The advertising earnings from google search advertising and also AdSense publishers grew by 47 percent compared to the second quarter of 2006.

Ofcourse this is not what some expected and part of the reason as to why earnings are lower than expectations can be put to the recent acqusition of DoubleClick and the opened investigation about googles acqusition of DoubleClick. Another problem is the two most significant lawsuits Google faces at the moment include those related to its book search project and the suit filed by Viacom related to YouTube.

The crazy ideas

Have you wanted to know how to make money online, searched google found hundred of sites that claim they will show you how to make money?
- Ofcourse you've been in this situation.

I want to clarify things a little about most of those websites or blogs. So nearly 90% of their articles and guides are pure nonsense. It is even funny to look at them beacose not only they post some ridiculous ideas and guids on making money but the funnier thing is there are people who bealive everything they are posting.

For example they have these strange ideas on making money on e-bay, with e-books, videos and similar things. This is all to put it simple false.

The best ways to make money are through advertising networks like AdSense, Adbrite, Bidvertiser and the rest of the advertising networks. Making money yourself and dealing with hundreds of advertisers, ADS, articles and all that stuff is impossible.

Second thing is even with the best advertising networks it's not easy to make money. The biggest issue is having large enough traffic and quality enough traffic. One thing is having a visitor spending less than one minute on your website or blog and other thing is visitor who is interested with your website or blog content! The issue with traffic itself can be spread to couple of categories by itself. Some of those categories are having a good website or blog with interesting or at least simple enough design, other thing is having good content on your website or blog, another thing is geting the people to come to your website or blog and so on...

When you put everything together you have a though and long way to go.
So you need to make your website look good, increase your search engine results, post good articles on your website as well as knowing how to do all of this.

So now you know what it takes and you need to do all of these things step-by-step. So thats why you need to look for articles and guides that explain all those things step-by-step and ignore some crazy ideas posted only to fullfil their daily quota of number of articles!

You could start by looking at my articles "Guide to making money online" and steadly going through rest of the articles.

Agloco viewbar released

On June 4th Agloco released the viewbar for it's members!

The viewbar itself it's simple, it has 3 buttons. The first one opens your default browser, the second one is a quick search type feature and the third hides the viewbar from seeing!
The long space between serves as an ADS placement and it should provide rotating ads!

Mine viewbar is not showing any ads for now and currently i have no idea how, when or what the earning and/or payment will be!

here are some official notes on the viewbar:

Viewbar Stability: We will be releasing an updated version of the Viewbar software within a week that will take care of some of the remaining ‘bugs’, and we will continue to stabilize the software. If you already have the Viewbar, you do not need to do anything to get this new version, as your Viewbar should automatically self-update with it. For the most part it seems these remaining ‘bugs’ appear minor and only affect a very limited number of members. This is good. This means we can put our primary emphasis on the next phase of the Viewbar while leaving a small team to work on the minor bugs.
Website Stability: We will be making the Viewbar software available on one trusted alternate download site (we are picking it now and it will be all set up before we send a Viewbar download “reminder” email to the Membership). This should help our servers balance the website traffic with the stress of the download process. We will continue to make adjustments and improvements to our servers in order to improve performance for those browsing (so there are no disruptions to the sign-up process for new Members in the future).
Ad rotation: We are working with the ad server people to optimize this process. The way they initially rotated the ads was crashing their servers with all the Viewbars asking for ads, so they have needed to improvise. Now it seems that some Members are getting rotating ads and others aren’t, depending on browser settings and computer environment. They are working on solutions so their ads show up on all Viewbars, regardless of computer environment or settings. I do not know how long this will take, but we have seen a steady improvement in the number of users who get rotating ads, so it seems progress is being made.
The next phase for AGLOCO is the maximizing of Viewbar revenue. This is an important goal, as we have fairly fixed costs so the more revenue we generate (especially more revenue per Viewbar), the more each Member will receive. There are lots of steps that will need to be taken in the coming months to improve AGLOCO’s revenue including:
Improving our search and ad revenue sources and sharing agreements. As more Members use the Viewbar, our bargaining power grows.
Start the Viewbar targeting system. One part of this system will focus ads based on your searches and surfing. Another part of this system will focus ads based on where you live (of course, AGLOCO will need to have a contract with ad networks in each of these countries to provide local ads in local countries).
Better inform Members of the revenue generating opportunities on the Viewbar.
Continue to work with existing Members who have not yet activated their Viewbars. We expect that after the initial spike of downloads this process will be one of gradual adoption. New Members signing up will have access to the Viewbar right away.
Continue to make improvements to encourage continued viral growth of the AGLOCO Membership. This includes website improvements, increased Viewbar functionality, and an opt-in Member-to-Member communication system.
Maximizing revenue is extremely important to AGLOCO, since cash distributions will come from AGLOCO’s positive earnings (revenue exceeding expenses). There is some information available on the AGLOCO website and in previous posts to this blog, but I will talk more about this important stage of AGLOCO’s future in my next post. I won’t be giving exact payment dates nor a fixed hourly rate prediction (as AGLOCO cannot predict future revenues per Member), but I will talk more about how the distributions will work.

Poll Results

I had a poll running for quite some time now.
The question was:
Do you believe you can make money with online surveys?

and here are the answers:
1. I don't know (12)
2. Yes (10)
3. No (9)
4. They are all scams (4)

My opinion on this is that today you can't really make money by paid surveys, this is beacose most companies offer other materials and/or products instead of money. Also with 50% of the paid survey affiliates being scams there is little room to make money. So instead of wasting your times with paid survey sites you should probably c0ncentrate more on CPM, CPC or similar advertisement!

easily share your sitemaps with all search engines at once

Hi there. I saw this news couple of days ago and i realise that many heavent heard or read about this so i'll post it:

Autodiscovery gives siteowners the ability to easily share their sitemaps with all search engines at once, without the overhead of manually submitting them to each one. In order to share your sitemap with the crawlers at large, you simply provide the following line in your robots.txt file:

Sitemap:

Where is the complete URL of your Sitemap Index File (or your sitemap file, if you don't have an index file). This directive is independent of the user-agent. so as long as it is present in the robots.txt file, all engines will be able to find your sitemaps.

This removes the need to individually submit sitemaps to each engine - simply add one line to your robots.txt file, and they will find your new and updated sitemaps automatically.

The objective of Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

The objective of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is to increase web visitor counts by ranking very high in the results of searches using the most appropriate keywords describing the content of your site. This relative ranking is often viewed as a struggle to best use a few keywords, instead of a struggle to out-do your competition.

If you search on your target keywords, you will see the leading site in the rankings. All you need to do is to be better than that number one site. This page suggests ways to optimize and improve search engine results with ranking and placement advice, information, hints, tips, and clues to improve your search engine keywords relative to existing leaders. After all, better keyword ranking is your real objective.

It is not enough to simply add META tags and do search engine submission of your site to a million search engine indexes and directories. The first placement step in obtaining significant web visitor counts is to seek first-page search engine results. An early step is to build a great content-rich site.

One of the last steps is the proper submission of your great site to the search engine or directory. In the middle is a step that is VITAL if you want to obtain front-page results. Most sites skim past this step because it is forgotten or too complex, but without competent Search Engine Optimization you are destined to be search engine fodder. The following FREE tools and advice describes how to design your keywords with Search Engine Optimization and ranking in mind.

There are no Search Engine Optimization secrets -- just ranking and placement methodologies to follow in order to beat your competition in obtaining a high ranking for desired search keywords. SEO training, content and link services are just one small part. This site targets improving search engine rankings by using a "follow the leader" approach to keyword selection and page wording. Once you know what keywords and search engine marketing services (not spam) worked for the "leaders", you can "beat the leader" and do even better!

Proper Search Engine Optimization requires that you beat your competition, so knowing the keywords and criterion used by your competition is the most important first step. It will become obvious that good ranking excludes keyword spamming the search engine, and that with the careful selection of your keywords that you will fare well for a little effort.

first things you do to promote your blog

1. Write down your blog's URL in your signature every time you post in a forum.
2. Join mybloglog.com and visit other related blogs there.
3. Actively and genuinely give comments in other blogs and write down also a link to your blog.
4. Do link exchanges with related blogs.
5. Use pinging services like pingomatic.com every time you post something.
6. Join some more blog communities to get more exposure. You'll have to be actively visiting other blogs there too for a start.
7. bookmark your blog and/or blog posts in sites like StumbleUpon, Digg, Furl, Delicious, and other social networks. Submit your RSS feed to some RSS directories and search engines.
8. you can also promote your blog by writing or buying some unique articles
9. submitting blog on free & paid directories and also link trading

Adsense Tips

1) AdSense Earning = Impression-count x Click-though-rate x Cost-per-click x smart-pricing-factor.
2) Impression count is basically referring to your traffic. It means the number of times AdSense block is displayed.
3) Click-through-rate (CTR) is ratio of clicks per impressions. It can range from 0.1% to 30%, but most commonly around 1% to 10%.
4) Cost-per-click (CPC) is the earning you get per click. While traditionally it refers to the amount advertisers pay for each click, it can also mean the amount publishers get for each click.
5) Smart-pricing is AdSense method to determine how valuable clicks from your site is worth. If clicks on your site doesn’t provide good value to advertisers, e.g. from visitors’ geo-location that seldom translate to sales, you will only get a fraction of the supposed CPC.6) Apply for AdSense account via blogger.com for faster approval.
7) Once you get your AdSense publisher code, you can put it any of your websites without requiring further approval.
8) Read and reread Google AdSense Program Policies and Terms and Conditions.
9) Don’t click on your own ads, or ask people to click, even if you are using proxies.
10) Don’t use click-bots.
11) Don’t encourage your visitors to click on ads.
12) Don’t put competitor contextual ads that look exactly like adsense on the same page as your AdSense, for example: Yahoo Publisher Network, Clicksor. Non-contextual ads are ok.
13) Don’t put your ads on objectionable material, e.g. adult sites, gambling sites, mp3, etc.
14) Basically, don’t cheat AdSense. Google will catch you, sooner or later.
15) Viewing your on website will not get you banned. Just make sure you don’t click on the ads.
16) However, repeatedly reload your page to jack up page impressions can get you banned.
17) When in doubt don’t hesitate to contact the AdSense team. They are very helpful.
18) Choose a high paying niche without too much competition.
19) You can try highest paying keywords from cwire.org, but know before-hand that you’ll face very fierce competitions.
20) Use Overture Bid Tool and Search Engine Keyword Tool to find suitable keyword.
21) Consider signing-up for AdWords and create a mini campaign. It can help you to understand the working of AdSense.
22) Target a specific audience. Get Google AdWords.
23) Put your targeted-keyword on Page Title.
24) Repeat the keywords in your content.25) Put emphasis around your keywords by using HTML tags.
26) Get domain name that contains your targeted keyword.
27) Submit your website to directories for inclusion, e.g. dmoz.org, yahoo directories
28) Submit your URL to search engines for crawling.
29) Create and submit your sitemaps to Google Sitemap (sitemap.xml) and Yahoo (urllist.txt)30) Google is not the only search engine. Optimize for different engines as well. You are very likely to face less competition than in Google.
31) Invest for original fresh content. Write or pay for contents regularly.
32) Use copyscape.com to find content theft. You invest for your content. Don’t let it be taken by unscrupulous webmasters.
33) Article marketing is one of the best way to deliver traffic to your site. Write and submit articles to article-submission sites. Include short summary and hyperlinks to your website in the author information box.
34) Don’t use objectionable methods to draw visitors to your site; buying traffics, spyware, hidden-texts, page cloaking etc will get your AdSense account terminated.
35) New visitors have higher chance to click on the ads than regular visitors, thus higher CTR (click-through rate).
36) Regular visitors have higher chance to recommend your site to others.
37) Search engines are where most of your new visitors come from. Learn a bit about Search Engine Optimization, or pay people to do it. Doing it yourself will save yourself from troubles created by not-so-honorable SEO (Search Engine Optimizer).
38) Don’t create mirrors. These are sites with different URLs but same contents. It hurts search engine ranking.
39) Its easier to create many websites with low earning than few websites with high earning.
40) Forum generally have high impressions count, but very low CTR.
41) CTR isn’t everything. If your CTR is high but gives low conversion rate for the advertiser site, it will trigger AdSense smart pricing.
42) Follow good design guidelines. Avoid the common design mistakes.
43) Help your visitors by creating easy navigation. You want your visitors to stay for as long as possible.
44) Use Google Analytics to see your website statistics. It can help you optimize your site.
45) Google AdSense Heatmap works. Just above your main content is the best position to put your AdSense block
46) Forum sites have different Forum AdSense Heatmap. Best positions for AdSense for forums are: on the left panel, after the first post, and just below the last post before the footer.
47) Forum is interactive medium. Be sensitive to your visitors concerns.
48) Try 300×250 medium rectangle, 336×280 large rectangle, or 160×600 wide skyscraper ad formats. These are the best performing AdSense ad formats.
49) Choose colors that blend with your content.
50) Wrap the AdSense block around your content.
51) dont put images next or above your AdSense block it can get you banned
52) Use channels to track the performance of different format, colors, and positions.
53) Opt in for both image ads and text ads. Google will choose better performing ads for you.
54) AdSense have both CPM (cost per thousand impressions) and CPC (cost per click) ads, and will choose the one it thinks can perform better.
55) Both image ads and text ads can be either CPM or CPC.56) Put link unit ads. They can add to the bottom line.57) Try Google Search unit. They provide value to your visitor while adding to your bottom line.58) Put in lots of efforts in creating contents and promoting your website. AdSense is not a get-rich-quick scheme.59) Clear low-value links from your site. You want your visitors to exit through the ads. Put only links that are really useful for the visitors.60) Search “AdSense Tips” on Google. Most webmasters continuously try to optimize their AdSense and many are more than willing to share their result.61) If you blog, Darren has some tips for you.62) Inside AdSense is official AdSense blog, where you can find latest developments about AdSense.63) You can get help of other AdSense pulishers at AdSense Help Group.64) If you are serious about making money from AdSense, get Joel’s AdSense Secrets.65) Don’t put too many ad blocks on your site. Find out the highest CTR block and remove the others. Few clicks on the 1$ ads are better than many clicks on the 3-cent-ads.66) Experiment, experiment, and experiment. You can never stop trying for new ad format. Even if you think you can’t improve anymore, one slight change might increase your earning significantly.67) Remove the “Advertise on this site” from your AdSense block until your site is big enough to attract real advertisers. This will help to clear off many MFA (made-for-adsense) sites. You can disable it from AdSense account setting.68) Use AdSense Preview Tool to test the ads that will appear on your site. You can click on ads in the AdSense preview tool, as the advertisers are not charged from it.69) AdSense uses geo-location to deliver advertisement. So, what you see on your site might not be what your visitors see. Use AdSense Preview Tool to view your AdSense advertisement displayed for visitors from other places.70) Use AdSense Competitive Ads Filter to remove scrapper sites ads. Scrapper sites are sites without real content. They are either link farms, content theft, or meta search engine.71) Use AdSense Competitive Ads Filter to remove irrelevant ads.72) AdsBlackList.com have good list of URLs to block. Try it.73) Try variations of AdSense colors, format, position on different pages to make it more unpredictable for your visitors.74) Learn some CSS.75) If you are putting multiple ads block on your website: put most clicked block to appear first in the HTML. Higher position in HTML = higher paying ads. You can do this using CSS.76) Try to put contents on different subject topics. If it can draw visitors, write more on that topic.77) If you have dynamic pages, use htaccess rewrite rule to make it appear as static, e.g. http://www.website.com/99-google-adsense-tips.html instead of http://www.website.com/?p=6.78) Validate your site HTML and CSS.79) Break your long articles to few short articles; this way the users are exposed to the ads for more times.80) Keep each article focused on one topic.81) Watch your statistics and pay attention to articles that bring in visitors.82) Write more articles within the subject that attract visitors.83) Web-savvy visitors are less inclined to click on ads.84) Have patience. You need time to build the traffic, and to optimize it.85) Think long-term. Analise what your visitors need, provide value and good experience to visitors.86) Consider buying websites. If you do it right, you can get back your investment in a relatively short time.87) Watch your AdSense earning. Notify AdSense Team if you find anything suspicious. Your competitors might try to sabotage your account, or your well-meaning friend keep on clicking on the ads thinking they are helping you.88) Use Google AdSense section targeting to help AdSense deliver more relevant ads.89) Use AdSense Alternate Ads in case if AdSense can’t find any relevant ads.90) Use rotating color ads. It keeps your visitors from getting AdSense blind.91) Try other contextual advertising networks too. Yahoo Publisher Network is still in beta and only available in U.S., or you can try Clicksor, Bidvertising, etc...92) You can put your clickbank, amazon, or other affiliate links on the same page with AdSense. You can also put other advertising network, so long as it is not contextual ads. Try Chitika, and disable the contextual ads option.93) If you don’t follow the Terms and Conditions, your AdSense account will be disabled and you’ll get banned for life.94) If you didn’t do anything wrong and your AdSense account is disabled: write them a polite and professional email, be patient and be persistent. Offer them your server logs to prove your innocence.95) Spread the links to your website: put it on your email signature, put comment on blogs, participate in your niche forums.96) Promote your articles in social bookmarking sites: del.icio.us, digg, reddit are good start.97) Provide Email a Friend option to visitors.98) Familiarize yourself with AdSense earning report. It can help you determine where your money is from, and optimize accordingly.99) Offer newsletters for visitors. It give you chance to get the visitors back regularly.

Drive Traffic to your website

1. Optimize Your Website
It is a matter of SEO. Maybe you have never heard of it. Even though you heard about it already, not everyone is familiar with it. In fact, Search engines will look at both the internal and external profile of your website while assigning a rank to a web page. Internal profile of a website (which is so-called On-Page Optimization) includes usage of meta tags, heading tags, keywords, targeted content, and internal linking of website. External profile of your website defines the websites that are linking to your website. It also defines the pages where your link is placed. Besides, it identifies the Page Ranking of those pages along with the placement of your link. And it also includes the number of inward links you are getting. Using the relevant keywords in anchor text gives a boost to rankings on the search engine result pages (SERPs). For more information on On-page optimization, please refer to our relevant posts in Da Gsense Code.

2. Linking Your website
After talking about the on-page optimization, here comes to off-page optimization. More often, webmasters only focus on on-page optimization, and neglect the presence of off-page optimization. In the world of internet, there are two kinds of links - External Links and Internal Links. External Links define the websites that are linking to your websiteInternal whereas Links refer to the internal linking of web pages. Getting links from other websites is the most powerful tool to drive traffic to your website. The results are instantaneous and highly effective. Getting links from quality websites with higher PR and proper anchor text definitely helps your site a lot and results in more fruitful traffic from search engines. Half the battle is won if you are able to provide the links in abundance. There are many tools available for automatically building links to your website. There are some link exchange directories on the net which are a good support in link building campaigns. However, the use of these support systems depend entirely on your beliefs and strategies. Proper inter-linking (that is intra-linking) of your web pages is also relevant and significant in driving traffic.

3. Post Articles
It is important that you publish and post more and more articles on the net or article websites. This gives you an advantage as it gets incoming links to your website. Posting unique articles catering to the interest of a large number of readers is also an effective way of driving organic traffic to your website. Well written articles bring more traffic to your website. More traffic means more profit for you. It is observed that as the PR of your website increases, the AdSense payouts also increase. You can hope to get many more internal links to your website through this medium. Search engines take into account the number of quality back links while assigning rank to your website. If visitors reading your articles are interested, they will check out your website and you will have increased number of links. In comparison to the links that point to other websites from your website, the links that point to your website give more points to your rankings.

4. Anchor Text
Anchor Text refers to the clickable text of a hyperlink. Anchor Text plays an important role with regard to the target traffic as well as the search engine rankings. An appropriate Anchor Text apprises the visitors of the content of the page it links to.Besides, Anchor Text gives a real clue to the search engines regarding the content of the web page it links to. The right Anchor Text improves your website's search engine ranking. That's why it's imperative to pick the Anchor Text astutely.Google reckons Anchor Text to be an indicator of the page relevance. Google, using its special operator "allinanchor:keyword", separately indexes the Anchor Text. Given below are some tips for choosing the right Anchor Text that suits the search engine algorithms, and attracts the right traffic.

5. Tools
To a lesser extent, website tools makes your website user friendly. It is recommended that you make use of the tools that are visitor friendly. New scripts and innovative schemes for the visitor help you get more inward links. This in turn builds traffic to your website. You should add the tools that are attractive. For example, you can offer free e-books, or introduce new exciting sections relevant to your website. This will make your website exciting for the visitors. Google loves unique content. It richly rewards the websites that provide more content and better facilities to the visitors. Google likes genuine of traffic coming to your website from Ad Sense network. Genuine traffic yields higher payouts. Website tools makes your website a genuine one. The credibility of your website increases the probability of your website getting high paying ads via Google.

6. Target Niche Keywords
It is important for you to identify the niche markets. This will enable you to fetch the traffic that has not been targeted much, and at the same time gels well with your industry. If your competitor is leading with X traffic on one keyword, you can compete with him by targeting ten niche keywords. This will give you the same amount of traffic. Keyword country provides you with hordes of niche keywords. These niche keywords bring more target traffic to your web pages. This results in a better ROI (if you are selling products or affiliates) or an increased Adsense CTR (Click Thru Ratio) of your ads.

Paid backlinks will no longer work with google

It seems that paid links will no longer useful for Google SEO in the future as Google is going to change their ranking algorithm to make sure that paid backlinks will have not effect to Google ranking. Google now tries to figure out how to separate paid links from natural links and they also allow anyone to report paid links to help them distinguish paid links and natural links.Furthermore, Google will take action against on websites that contains a lot of paid links.

And for websites and bloggers that sell text links, here's what Matt Cutts, Head of Google's webspam team advices:http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/hidden-links" If you want to sell a link, you should at least provide machine-readable disclosure for paid links by making your link in a way that doesn’t affect search engines. There’s a ton of ways to do that. For example, you could make a paid link go through a redirect where the redirect url is robot’ed out using robots.txt. You could also use the rel=nofollow attribute.

Google will make SEO harder. If you frequently buy paid links to boost your Google ranking and PR, I think you should stop now to avoid your site or blog penalized by Google.Payments to webmasters and bloggers for a text link appears on their sites and blogs are definitely considered as paid links. For paid directory listings, there are still no clear specifications whether they are seen as paid links. For blog sponsor posts from reviewme.com and Payperpost.com, they are likely to be treated as paid links as well since one of the goals of Google is to stop people from using unnatural backlinks that can artificially boost up their websites ranking. The devaluation of paid links by Google will sure affect the ways webmasters make money online in the future.

IBM Easy Website Builder
The IBM Easy Website Builder is test project whose creators request that businessmen download, test, and vote on it, adding their own suggestions and recommendations and requesting that IBM complete this project (all this can be done at the "Reviews" tab on this site).

IBM Easy Website Builder is an integrated tool that allows businessmen, as well as any users with no technical skills, to develop their Web presence with no need for or dependency upon a technical person. Site creation is done using business and content terminology delivered through a visual interface, without the user's having to write code or get into low-level technical terms. Using its smart components, users can show through the Web what their company does and what they have to offer to their customers. They can easily present stored information about their business and gather information from site visitors.

How does it work? When the user opens the tool, he is greeted by a wizard that allows him to create a Web site from scratch using predefined site layouts or from a predefined sample site. In this wizard, the user selects generic site attributes such as color scheme, logo, and navigation bar links. After this short wizard is finished, a complete Web site that the user can further edit is created.

The user can now use a simple Web page editor to place various texts, images, links, and tables, as well as smart components that interact with business information stored in a database (in the future, other data sources will also be usable). When the user defines the data for these components, the tool creates, "under the covers," database tables with the matching schemata. The content of the tables may later be modified using a wizard. The tool also writes the necessary scripts for creating the matching tables on a production database and even the scripts for filling in the values that the user entered into his local database (to be executed by the deployer of the site).

A site preview is updated dynamically to let the user browse the site in progress. The user can also test his site on the Tomcat Web server included with the tool. When the site is ready for publishing, the user can click on a button to create a file and publish it to his own server or send it to the IT representative for deployment to his server.

The IBM Easy Website Builder, which was built using Eclipse technology, is bundled with a complimentary open-source database (Apache Derby) and Web application server (Apache Tomcat); these inclusions reduce the total cost of ownership. The tool may also be configured to work with other databases such as IBM DB2 and other Web application servers such as IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS).

Individual Keyword Phrase Analysis

Here is a good article about individual keyword anaysis by Fernando Chavez

It is common for Web sites to rank very well for certain keywords but not very well for others. This makes sense since the competitive landscape changes from one keyword phrase to the next. There may be 300,000 search results for keyword A and 1,000,000 search results for keyword B. Presumably, it would be harder to outrank a million results than three hundred thousand, but this is not always the case. There may be a greater number of optimized pages in the smaller results set, making it more competitive than the largër set.
While it is nice to know why a certain keyword phrase is more competitive than another phrase, it does not really help us formulate an SEO strategy to rank well for that keyword.

In order to come up with a successful SEO game plan it is necessary to gather a significant amount of data about the top ranking sites for whatever keyword phrase you are trying to optimize.

Gathering the Data
As we all have heard, there are two main factors that contribute to rankings: content and links. Generally speaking, the more optimized content you have on your site targeting a specific keyword, the more likely it is that you will be viewed as relevant by the search engines for that keyword. Similarly, the more inbound links you have going into your site, the more likely it is that your site will rank well. Search engines consider an inbound link to be a "vote" for your site. The more votes your site has, the more relevant it must be.
So how do we gather the data to compare your site to the top ranking sites for your desired keyword? The search engines are surprisingly helpful in this regard. Google and Yahoo! together give you nearly all of the information that you need in order to do an effective competitive evaluation.

Let us assume you want to rank for [sample keyword phrase]. The first thing we would do is search for that phrase in Google and look at the top 10 results. Once you have that líst of sites, we recommend that you gather the following information for each site:
1. # of pages on the site that use all the words from the phrase.2. # of pages on the site that use the exact keyword phrase.3. # of pages on the site that use all the words from the phrase in the page Title.4. # of pages on the site that use the exact keyword phrase in the page Title.5. # of inbound links to the site's home page, not including internal links.6. # of inbound links to the most relevant landing page on your site for the keyword phrase (assuming it is not the home page). You should make note of how many internal and external inbound links there are to the landing page.

Items 1-4 can be obtained if you have software that can crawl a Web site and compile statistics on word usage throughout the site. For SEO purposes, it is much more useful to query Google to gather the data above. After all, does it really matter if you have ten pages of content about a particular keyword phrase if none of them have been indexed?

Here are the queries you would use to get the data for items 1-4 in Google:
1. site:www.domain.com sample keyword phrase 2. site:www.domain.com "sample keyword phrase" 3. site:www.domain.com intitle:sample intitle:keyword intitle:phrase 4. site:www.domain.com intitle:"sample keyword phrase"
The inbound link data (items 5-6) can easily be obtained from Yahoo! Site Explorer. You can also gather the link data for your own site in the Google Webmaster tools. If you are not familiar with Yahoo! Site Explorer, you can simply copy and paste the URL below into your Web browser, replacing the domain name that we have highlighted with the name of the site you are researching:
http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/advsearch?p=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.domain.com&bwm=i&bwmo=d&bwmf=u
Copying and pasting the URL above will give you the number of inbound links to your home page (minus internal links) according to Yahoo! Site Explorer. In other words, the results of this query will give you item 5 from above. From this page you can get item 6 by pasting the URL of your most relevant landing page into the Yahoo! Site Explorer search box. Make note of the initial number of results. It tells you how many inbound links you have to that specific page from external sites. Now change the option selected in the Show Inlinks pull down menu from "Except from this domain" to "From All Pages". You now have the total number of inbound links to that page.
Once you have all of the data gathered for every site we recommend putting all of the numbers together in a spreadsheet. You can organize it in whatever way is easiest for you to understand, but you want to be able to easily compare all of the sites to each other.

Data Analysis - Where Should You Focus Your Efforts?
So now that you have all of this data, what do you do with it? The answer is - it depends. If your site appears to have a better than average amount of link popularity but fewer optimized pages than your competition, then you will probably want to spend some time creating new pages. On the other hand, you may want to focus all of your initial efforts on link building if you have far fewer links than your top performing competitors. You can have all the relevant content in the world, but without any inbound links your site has very little chance of ranking well.

Not every competitive analysis is going to be as simple as the two examples given above. Sometimes you do have enough link popularity and plenty of content. What is the problem then? Well, the reason we feel that items 3 and 4 are important is that using a keyword phrase in a page Title usually reflects that the phrase you are researching is the main theme (or one of the main themes) of the page. There are obviously many other factors in optimizing a Web page. However, using the intitle: command is one of the only ways you can query the search engines to find pages that are somewhat optimized without having to view every page on your site.
Your content optimization should begin with the pages that are already somewhat optimized. In this case, we are talking about the pages that use the keyword phrase in their Title tags. Make sure that all of these pages are as optimized as they can be without overusing or "stuffing" keywords. We recommend using the Single Page Keyword Density Analyzer in the SEOToolset (you can try a frëe version of the Single Page KDA here) to evaluate each page.

Once you have gone through the pages that already use the keyword phrase in their Title tags, you should then focus on the pages that use the phrase in the page body but not the Title tag. You can find these pages with the following command in Google:
site:www.domain.com "sample keyword phrase" –intitle:"sample keyword phrase"
One good thing about Google is that they almost always rank results in order of relevance. That appears to be the case with the above command based on what we have seen. For that reason you should start with result 1 and go down from there. You might as well start with the pages that are closest to being optimized for your keyword already. Optimize these pages using the Single Page KDA exactly as you did with the others.

After you have optimized your pages it may also be necessary to create a silo for this keyword phrase and all other similarly themed keywords. Please read this article from the September 2006 edition of the SEO Newsletter if you are not familiar with the concept of siloing. If your most relevant landing page was not ranking well due to a lack of internal links, then creating a siloing structure should help. Be sure to add the index page of any newly created silo into main navigational elements so that it has plenty of inbound links.
Let us suppose that you have created a well-optimized silo to target your keyword and your site is still not ranking well. Assuming that your site is not being filtered and/or penalized in some way and that all of your pages have been indexed, then you will have to either create more content or develop more inbound links to get over the hump. When it comes to developing links you will want to focus on getting links to both your home page and to the most relevant landing page for the keyword you are optimizing.

The analysis that we have discussed in this article is for one keyword phrase. It is a good exercise, but you will likely be optimizing a much largër set of keywords on your site. The SEO process becomes more and more complicated as your site grows and you try to optimize more keywords. However, the same fundamental principles still apply. Good rankings will come if you have a well-organized (i.e. siloed) site with a significant amount of optimized content and inbound links. You will not have the time to go through this evaluation for every possible keyword you want to optimize, but it is valuable to go through the process for high priority keywords. Otherwise, you will have no idea where you should focus your SEO efforts.

Tips for Getting Backlinks to Your Website

1. Fill out a form or email a webmaster, asking for a reciprocal link. We'll assume for the purpose of clarity that we mean exchanging links to post to a traditional directory page.

2. Deep linking. You embed your partner's link into relevant text on a page other than your directory page, and your partner does the same with your link.

3. Links from signatures. This can be a signature you place at the end of every email you send out, or in forum posts.

4. Comments left on other websites. This can be a blog or a comment form on any website. These will usually have your website url attached to the comment.

5. Submit your website to niche or general website directories. These can be paid or free; I choose depending on what I need to do to get a link without having to put a link on my website. I prefer free, but it's a personal choice.

6. Write and syndicate articles and include your url link in the resource box.Write exclusive articles for high-traffic sites that rank highly in search engine results.
Thinking Outside the Box

7. Mix up the above 5 ways. For example, if you'd like a link from a site with a higher page rank than your own, ask for a link on their directory page in exchange for a link on your homepage as well as in your directory. Save this idea for one or two HIGHLY relevant but non-competitive sites, and only if their search engine results are on, say, page 1 of Google.

8. Write testimonials and reviews.Communicate personally with webmasters. Write up a short review of their website or product rather than sending them a generic request for a link trade. Don't wait for them to ask for a testimonial, send them one anyways. For example, instead of saying "I visited your site and like it a lot, I agree with what you say about (blah blah) and thought we'd make great link partners, would you like to..." try summing up what it is about your business that relates to the other website. Promote your business in a way that's in XYZ's best interests to print as a testimonial- how their product benefits your business.
As a webmaster, I'd love to receive an email like that. I'd write right back and ask if I could use it on my website.

9. Write reviews where they're asked for.Search around. Don't look too far ;-) The big names are the places you want to go. Take Amazon.com for example. People click over to Amazon with their credit cards ready. They are discerning shoppers and they are often repeat customers; they read reviews, they follow links to "what else purchasers of [a particular product] bought". So write reviews of products that relate to your website topic. Book reviews are the easiest; follow your nose to the bestsellers or new books in your category at the library.

10. Communicate with whoever you represent as an affiliate.Create a product such as a user manual or report ("10 Tips for Succeeding as an XYZ Affiliate" or "How to Increase Your Productivity Using [XYZ's Product] in your Home Office")and imbed your url link(s) in it. Let the affiliate program manager distribute your report or manual to his affiliates. Or again, write a glowing testimonial to the program, product or owner's customer service, etc.
